~Bending Abilities~

Earth Bending- Your Basic Earth Bending.
- Rank Requirement: Apprentice

Mineral Bending- The ability to bend Precious Metals as well as various gems found within the earth, metals are usually more effective in combat than normal earth bending, though is scarcer. This bending can include metal as well as crystal bending. Although mineral bending is primarily used to manipulate metals and crystals, it can be used to manipulate nearly any material such as: plastic, glass, etc.
- Rank Requirement: Professional

Bone Bending- Bone Bending allows the user to bend the anatomical structure of his bones to his will, he can increase the amount of bones he has, withdraw them from his body an otherwise command them as he wills, the Bone Bender is limited to his own structure, meaning he cannot effect the bodies of others, only his own.
- Rank Requirement: Skilled

Sand Bending- The ability to bend and control up to large masses of finely grained sand and utilize it in battle. Unlike normal earth, sand is a lot more fluidity to it's movement, allowing it to be manipulated in a way that has only ever been seen with water bending. Sand bending is a powerful form of earth bending, being able to be utilized as both a means of offense as well as defense. Benders who use sand bending are also able to crush other minerals such as pure rock to create more sand in which they can use in battle.

Water Bending- Your Basic Water Bending.

Ice Bending- Water benders who are so skilled at water bending, that their abilities extend to the manipulation and even conjuration of ice, to the point where they can bend it to their whim as if it were a fluid itself. Ice bending is a powerful and very handy ability, being utilized for both offensive and defensive purposes.

Blood Bending- The ability to control the life giving liquid in ones body, the user can withdraw it and use it as an attack form. Another ability that they can use this for is stopping blood flow in certain areas of their body in order to stop a massive loss of blood. This ability is very useful for medical personnel.

Liquid Bending- Liquid Bending allows the user to manipulate other liquid substances other than just normal water. This liquid manipulation ability allows them to manipulate substances with fluidity, like tea or any other liquid substance that is not normal H2o water.

Fire Bending- Your Basic Fire Bending

Lightning Bending-
The ability to call forth Lightning and bend it to the users will. The lightning is as fast as the speed of sound, if not slightly slower. This ability takes a lot out of the user, but is very useful because of it's speed and damaging power. The user must first take three seconds to conduct the lightning however, and there must be at least one cloud in the sky.
- Rank Requirement: Lord

Heat Bending- The ability to conjure and manipulate waves of heat up to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. This form of heat manipulate is futile in the area of defense but can be extremely dangerous when it comes to offensive fighting. Enough consecutive hits from heat waves can even completely dehydrate the water in a human's body, effectively killing them.

Air Bending- Your Basic Air Bending.
- Rank Requirement: Apprentice

Smoke Bending- Air Benders that are minorly skilled have learned how to manipulate smoke in order to use a thicker and more hazardous form of air. Smoke bending is easy to learn and utilize, but is dangerous to those around the user if the user is not skilled enough to control it.
- Rank Requirement: Skilled
- Rank Requirement: Professional (to be able to fully control it, to the point that it doesn't effect those you don't wish it to)

Sound Bending- A specialized form of Air Bending in which air benders can create or manipulate existing sound waves to their whim. The sound waves can be increased in frequency, force, speed, or even thickness. The power of this ability is determined by the user's rank. The users themselves can even build up air in their ears to make them immune to high frequency sound waves, but the user must be a Master of Air bending in order to clog air in their ears, because if they make a mistake their head will explode. Sound benders can even create new sound-waves to utilize in battle instead of only being able to manipulate existing ones.

Miscellaneous Bendings- Some Bending Types Not Associated With The 4 Main Bending Types

Nature Bending- The ability to control natural plant life and various fauna, this allows greater control of plant life and the user can veritably "communicate" with the plants, gaining intelligence from them etc. the user can control and increase or decrease the size of all plant life. This ability can also be used to the user advantage, including the ability to harness the power of the sun to heal themselves (this process takes a least five seconds to complete) as well as make powerful blasts of solar energy.

Light Bending- The ability to manipulate and bend light, sun rays, clouds, and other things associated with light, excluding fire affinity elements (magma, fire, lava, etc.) they can also fire power beams of light, or minor, blinding beams. They can also gather sun-rays to heal themselves or others.
- Rank Requirement: Skilled

Dark Bending- The ability to create and manipulate shadows, putting them to your own use. Dark benders can even block out the moon and stars with darkness if they are a Master ranking. Dark benders can harden darkness into an actual material, and even create shadow monsters. (up to 3)
- Rank Requirement: Professional

Mind Bending- The ability to alter and affect the minds of sentient creatures, Mind Benders can completely control all animals and insects (so long as it is not a pet of an actual RPer), and make them fight alongside them in battle.
- Rank Requirement: High Lord

Spirit Bending- Many spirits are connected to the spirit world, spirits that govern the forests, seas, clouds and pretty much everything around us, the Spirit Bender can call forth these powerful spirits to aid them, keep in mind this ability also allows the user to summon the spirits of the deceased, it allows the user to call forth elemental spirits tied to the land or spirit world itself as well. (Maximum number of spirit summons: 5)

Skin Bending- Skin bending is effectively hardening and extending one's skin to use as weaponry or defense. Although impossible to completely harden their entire body at once, Skin Benders are able to harden up to a single limb at a time, in order to make stronger physical attacks or to extend their skin to form a shield or defense. Another ability unique to Skin Benders are their ability to control the color and pattern of their skin to make it camouflage their appearance, effectively making them appear near invisible at first glance.

The standard sword class of weapons are primarily designed to chop and slice opponents. As it offers the largest range of weapons to choose from by far. The fine art of Swordsmanship is a skill to be admired. Employing neither the wallop-on-the-head approach of the mace fighter, nor the pinging, poking thrust of the fencer, the swordsman knows the near-silent whistle of polished metal slicing the air - and other, less vaporous things. There are many basic techniques that a person knowing swordsmanship is able to perform, but it also allows them to wield powerful and more dangerous swords.
Swordsmanship Includes: Longswords, Broadswords, Axes, Katanas, Scythes, or other sword types.

~Mace Fighting

Mace Fighting is a skill that allows a practitioner to use the Mace class of weapons. As with other offensive skills, a mace fighter is able to use a multitude of weapon types relating to mace fighting. Maces tend to dent and break armor more quickly than any other weapon type during combat. Simply put, mace class weapons are designed to crush (or at least severely bruise) your opponents. Sometimes spikes are added in order to cause additional flesh wounds. They deal an extra hit to the stamina level of targets, while also lowering the durability of their armor at an accelerated rate.
Mace Fighting Includes: Clubs, Staffs, Hammers, Maces, and Scepters.

The art of stealth fighting covers a wide-range of techniques and abilities. One of these 'Detection' which allows the user to pick-up on or detect hidden traps, people, or anything else that would usually be insusceptible to normal people. Their ability to detect such things are determined by their character skill rank. Secondly, are also extremely skilled in the art of poison as well as applying it to weaponry, such as daggers and miniature bladed weapons.

~Character Types

Benders
Bending, the ability to manipulate an element, is very significant to all aspects of life in the Avatar world. There are significantly four basic Bending Arts. These four basic Bending Arts are used to bend physical materials; fire, water, earth, and air. The basic Bending Arts are also nearly the only elements with sub-elements. The Avatar is capable of using all of the basic Bending Arts, but also able to learn some of the more advanced elements. The bending abilities are not defined genetically, but are related to one's nationality; however, due to wide-spread scattering and mixed teaching, there are multiple benders in foreign nations; such as airbenders in the water tribes, vice-versa, and so on.
Bending Elements

Fighters
Fighters are far different from benders, in the sense that instead of using spiritual energy to control the physical make-up of the world, they use hard-trained skill and physical combat in both hand-to-hand and weaponry to win battles. Fighters use techniques pertaining normally to one of the four basic Combat Arts. These four basic Combat Arts are: swordsmanship, macing, stealth style, and martial arts. Although there are a wide variety of other specialties besides these four, these four are the most commonly utilized in the world of fighting and combat, that does not involve bending. In ancient time, the fighters have actually had long-lasting feuds with benders, feeling either inferior or lower than them, they would often rebel; today it remains peaceful, however, both benders and fighters live in harmony.
Combat Specialties

Civilians
Civilians, out of all three character types, are certainly the most diverse. They have a vast inability to fight, due to their extreme disadvantage, and choose instead to indulge in more human things; such as arts, literature, politics, or science. Civilians tend to be more intelligent, artistically inclined, and generally academically superior than the other two types, which nearly makes up for their lack of fighting skill. Due to this, they choose to live more sheltered lives and participate in political and normal activities, rather than combat or fighting activities. The most basic of talents that civilians have are: literature, art, politics, mathematics, science, and strategy.

However, there are still certain rules pertaining to all three of these types. You may only have one type, and that's it. This is to eliminate any high advantages over other characters with only one type.
- Only Benders may have elements or anything pertaining to the manipulation of them.
- Only Fighters may have advanced weapons and armor or anything pertaining to them. (although other types may have very basic weapons; i.e: small daggers)
- Only Civilians may have advanced talents or items. This means that only they may have things such as lock picks. (although other types may have basic items such as glasses)
